While, as an Audi fan (and Rivian waiter), I find a lot of this really interesting as I watch the market develop. However, you’re describing many of these issues as if they are insurmountable. That the current vehicles don’t have the space doesn’t mean that they can’t do the same - they would just get redesigns to incorporate it if it is deemed important enough. Right now, given the lead that Tesla has - it isn’t that important for them as their focus is on optimization and mass market. When the Model S gets threatened in this manner, no doubt they will redesign to cover this use case.
